40-Foot Golden Marvel to Feature Vintage Bullock Carts and Royal Palanquins

In an exciting festive development for devotees across Jharkhand, the Chutia Nav Yuvak Sangh Durga Puja Committee in Ranchi is constructing an enchanting fairy-themed pandal for this year’s Durga Puja celebrations. Located within the historic courtyard of the Mahadev Manda in Lower Chutia, the entire structure is being envisioned as a gleaming golden realm that bridges fairy tale aesthetics with vintage cultural heritage. Veteran artisans arriving from Contai (Kanthi) in Midnapore, West Bengal, are meticulously shaping the grand installation, which measures 90 feet in width, 60 feet in length, and rises to an impressive height of 40 feet using bamboo framing, Chinese foam, netting, thermocol, fiber, and premium fabrics.Traditional Wedding Processions, Selfie Zones, and Divine IdolsThe thematic highlight of the pandal centers on ancient wedding traditions, displaying depictions of vintage palanquins, elephants, camels, and a dedicated bullock cart installation designed as a major selfie spot for visitors. The focal point features a majestic fairy figure sculpted from bamboo and foam, while the interior walls showcase intricate bas-relief carvings of deities. At the heart of the sanctuary stands the grand Pratima of Goddess Durga vanquishing Mahishasura, flanked by Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Saraswati, and Lord Kartikeya. The gates will officially open to devotees on Shashthi following the sacred Bel Baran ritual, inaugurating full public access.₹20 Lakh Budget, Grand Meena Bazaar, and Mahabhog for 100,000 DevoteesCommittee President Rajkumar Mahato revealed that the overall celebration budget stands at ₹20 lakh, encompassing ₹11 lakh for pandal fabrication, ₹1.25 lakh for the consecrated idols, ₹1.50 lakh for advanced illumination and acoustic setups, ₹2 lakh for religious offerings, and ₹5 lakh dedicated to security, crowd management, and decor. The organizers plan to serve Mahabhog to nearly 100,000 devotees across four festival days, offering traditional delicacies including mung bean pudding, kheer, khichdi, fresh fruits, and sweet bundiya. Alongside the spiritual offerings, an expansive Meena Bazaar will operate with amusement rides, boat swings, carnival attractions, and diverse culinary stalls, supported by a committed executive committee led by Bhola Choudhary, Gullu Gop, and Pramod Gop.
