50 Forced Laborers from Chhattisgarh Rescued in Swift Joint Operation

Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : There has been an incident where 50 people including 41 workers from Janjgir-Champa district are found to be imprisoned and toiling away at a place in Tamil Nadu. They also include women and children. On learning about the incident, the administration of the district swung into action and are taking all necessary steps to send all the people to their safe return.Reports suggest that workers belonging to Janjgir-Champa district were lured to Devandwakam village in Tiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu under the pretext of employment. There they were compelled to work as forced labor and not even paid according to their due wages. It was after receiving reports from the desperate workers, the administration of Tiruvallur district took swift action and freed them.The Collector spoke to the workers himself.After being informed, Janjgir-Champa Collector Janmejay Mahobe instantly took a cognizance of the incident. It coordinated with Tiruvallur administration in Tamil Nadu and local authorities for status report and initiated coordination with the administration. With the assistance of the administration of local place along with relevant Non-governmental organization (NGO) all the workers were safely rescued.He also spoke to all the workers individually over phone to know about their well-being. Mr. Janmejay Mahobe also assured that administration is standing with them in every step and will also make arrangements to send back all of them to their homes safely and requested the concerned to inform any problem with immediate effect.Arrangements made for food, tickets and finances.The administration of Tiruvallur has arranged for food and tickets along with every amenity to all of them and each one of them has been issued a release certificate. Janjgir-Champa administration is keeping track of all the issues.Mr. Janmejay Mahobe further mentioned that until every worker reaches his village the administration would stay in constant contact with each one of them and it would also try to provide necessary aid of finances to all the distressed workers that requires it. The administration guarantees to send back all workers to their villages with respect and security.
