The stampede occurred on Monday near a holy gate of the shrine where thousands of devotees were competing to pass through the gate. Many women and children were trampled and at least 80 people were injured, with reports claiming that two people may have died.An image shared by Express news showed hundreds of people scrambling to move, while the police were trying to manage the situation, using sticks.This was revealed from the footage recorded by Cctv cameras mounted at various sites near the procession. Reports suggest that this occurred when the main gate of shrine was open and some people try to make their own way inside it from a govt convoy. Police was trying to stop crowd to control it but could not.
