A Festive Season Boost: Arunachal Pradesh Govt Employees to Get 3% DA Hike

In a move that brings some early festive cheer, the Arunachal Pradesh government has approved a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and Dearness Relief (DR) for its pensioners. The decision aligns the state's DA rates with those of the central government, providing a welcome financial lift to thousands of families. The hike raises the current dearness allowance from 55% to 58% of the basic pay. The pay raise is effective retrospectively from July 1, 2025, and is set to benefit over 75,000 regular state government employees, pensioners, and All India Service (AIS) officers serving in the state.Announcing the decision, Chief Minister Pema Khandu detailed how the payments would be rolled out. The arrears for the three months from July to September 2025 will be paid in cash. Starting from October 2025, the revised, higher DA will be reflected in the monthly salaries and pensions. On social media, Chief Minister Khandu called the move a reflection of the government's "strong commitment to employee welfare." This marks the second increase for state employees this year; the DA was previously raised from 53% to 55% in May.The decision was lauded by the Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP), which stated that the hike would encourage employees to work with even greater dedication. The dearness allowance is adjusted periodically to help employees and pensioners manage the impact of inflation on their cost of living.
