Abhishek Choudhary Files Rs 2 Crore Land Fraud Case in Ranchi: FIR Lodged Against Five Individuals

A high-profile legal dispute has surfaced in Ranchi as Abhishek Choudhary, son of the late former Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) president and former IPS officer Amitabh Choudhary, registered an FIR at the Hindpiri Police Station alleging a land fraud amounting to approximately Rs 2 crore.Details of the Land Deal and Alleged FraudAccording to the complaint filed by Abhishek Choudhary, the dispute stems from a land transaction initiated in 2021. The deal involved a 736-decimal parcel of land located in Kedal and Ramdaga villages across the Khalari and Chanho regions. The transaction was negotiated with Shahnawaz Shaikh, a resident of Shekhar Mansion in Hindpiri, along with his family members. The agreed rate was set at Rs 20,000 per decimal. To fund the purchase, Amitabh Choudhary reportedly sold approximately 150 katthas of land in his ancestral villages in Darbhanga and Madhubani, paying the accused around Rs 2 crore in multiple installments.Complications Following Amitabh Choudhary's PassingThe situation escalated after the sudden passing of former IPS officer Amitabh Choudhary on August 16, 2022, before the formal land registration could be completed.According to the police complaint, when Abhishek approached Shahnawaz Shaikh following his father's demise, the accused allegedly claimed the final deal was settled at a higher rate of Rs 25,000 per decimal and disputed the total amount received. As discussions continued, the accused allegedly demanded an additional sum of Rs 1 crore and later informed the family that the disputed land had been mortgaged to a bank.Local law enforcement authorities have initiated a comprehensive inquiry into the matter, examining all land deeds, bank statements, financial transactions, and related evidentiary documents provided in the complaint.
