Officials have opened "on-the-spot" (tatkal) registration counters in Jammu for pilgrims heading to the holy cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas.This in-person registration service provides a crucial option for pilgrims who were unable to secure a spot through the online portal, which opened on April 15. The annual pilgrimage itself is scheduled to run for 52 days, from June 29 to August 19, 2024.To ensure a smooth and organized process, three dedicated registration centers have been established across Jammu:Vaishnavi DhamMahajan Sabha (Shalamar Road)Panchayat Ghar (near the Railway Station)Pilgrims wishing to register must present their Aadhaar card, which is mandatory for verification. Upon arrival at one of the centers, each individual will be issued a token. They can then proceed to the designated counter to complete their registration for the holy journey.This offline system is a vital part of the logistical preparations managed by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB). By offering both online and on-the-spot registration, authorities aim to manage the immense flow of devotees, ensuring that all pilgrims are accounted for and can embark on their spiritual journey safely and smoothly.
