The ongoing investigation into the alleged theft and embezzlement of donations at Ayodhya’s historic Ram Temple has significantly widened, with law enforcement agencies systematically scanning everyone involved in the complex's daily monetary management. Following the arrest of eight individuals connected to the cash diversion network, police intelligence operations have shifted focus toward the intensive cash-counting unit. Nearly 50 individuals, who were directly engaged in manually sorting and tallying currency notes contributed by million of devotees, are now under the scanner. Investigators revealed that these personnel had secured their positions inside the high-security counting facility based on direct recommendations from top temple Trust office bearers and close internal networks.Multi-Tiered Security Grid Deployed at Cash Counting ZonesIn the wake of the cash diversion coming to light, the Uttar Pradesh administration has completely restructured the security apparatus guarding the temple’s inner treasury. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), state police, and specialized central agencies have established a fortified multi-layer cordon. Supplementing the governmental forces, the private security force contingent has been scaled up from 300 to approximately 350 personnel. These guards operate across three seamless shifts, monitoring key checkpoints alongside armed state forces. To maximize alertness among the personnel, the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government directed a swift upward revision of monthly honorariums for the private security personnel, raising salaries from ₹16,000 to ₹18,000 immediately after the cash discrepancies were exposed.Strategic Division of Guards Across Inner and Outer ZonesThe physical security infrastructure inside the complex is split strategically between two specialized private entities working alongside government security officers. The first defensive line is heavily manned by SIS security personnel and police squads, who actively control the entry gates, the religious Parikrama (circumambulation path), the historical Sugriva Fort area, and the highly sensitive inner perimeter of the main temple structure. The outer layer, extending to the comprehensive Pilgrim Service Centre and external access pathways, is assigned to the BPH agency. Under the revised high-alert protocols, every official, worker, and volunteer passing through these strategic intersections is subjected to comprehensive electronic and physical screenings to eliminate blind spots.
