
Dhaka : Former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, alongside 99 others, faces charges in two courts for housing-related fraud. Out of the six cases, the Dhaka Special Judge Court-4 presiding Judge Rabiul Alam has framed charges in three against 17 participants which include Hasina and her sister Sheikh Rehana, a separate charge of 18 participants which include Hasina and Azmina Siddiq, and one charge with Hasina and Radwan Mujib Siddiq. This was reported by the state-owned Bangla news agency BSS. Scheduled for August 13 The judge set a preliminary date of August 13 for the cases to begin recording testimonies and has also issued arrest mandates for the participants. At the Special Judge2 Court-5, Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun framed charges in one case against 12 people, Hasina being one. Other cases included: one charge of 17 participants which includes Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy as well as one charge of 18 participants with Hasina and her daughter Saima Wazed Putul, as also reported by the agency. Court issues arrest warrants against accused It set August 11 as a deadline to record testimonies for the cases, placing participants arrest warrants as well. Public prosecutor of the case, Mir Ahmed Ali Salam also mentioned the case.Two courts in the area had fixed the date for the hearing as July 31.The two courts had scheduled July 31 for the hearing on charge framing on the 6 cases of irregularities in the allocation of plots in the Rajuk Purbachal New Town Project.The six cases were filed by the ACC from January 12-14 of this year. The investigation officers submitted the chargesheets on the 10th of March. Hasina, aged 77, has been facing multiple cases in the country after being forcibly removed from power on 5th August last year, following a massive student protest that driven her out of the capital.
