A fresh wave of tension has gripped Bangladesh as student groups issued a strict ultimatum to the interim government led by Muhammad Yunus following the death of student leader Sharif Osman Hadi and the subsequent shooting of another leader. The situation deteriorated further on Monday when Motaleb Shikder a leader of the National Citizen Party and a key figure in the student workers front was shot in the head in Khulna. This second shooting incident within days of Hadis death in Singapore has sparked widespread anger and raised concerns about the safety of student leaders who participated in the uprising. Protesters have gathered at key locations including Shahbagh accusing the authorities of negligence and demanding justice for the victims. The student leaders stated that their patience is running out and threatened to paralyze the country if the government fails to ensure security and accountability. The incidents have put the Yunus administration under immense pressure to restore law and order as the country approaches its scheduled election timeline.
