
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Bhagalpur and other districts of Bihar may see a bright future of their farmers soon. On the instruction of Bihta MLA and Road Construction Minister of the State Engineer Shailendra, his daughter and BJP leader Komal Kriti had a special meeting with the Union Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan in New Delhi, where she strongly demanded to establish an ultra-modern 'Integrated Irradiation and Packhouse Unit' (Common Facility Center) in Silk City Bhagalpur on the lines of the one to be set up in Bihta, Bihar. This will prove to be a turning point for increasing the shelf-life of fruits and vegetables. Komal Kriti in a memorandum to the Union Minister Chirag Paswan stated that establishing this state-of-the-art facility in Bhagalpur would enhance the quality of local fruits and vegetables, and, more importantly, increase their shelf-life manifold, which means that the crop would not be spoiled for a long time and farmers would not be forced to sell their products at throwaway prices. Katarni rice and Jardalu mango to get wings for foreign exports The 'Common Facility Center' being built will provide that the famous Jardalu mango and Katarni rice of Bhagalpur will become fully equipped for National and International phytosanitary norms and conditions, thereby facilitating direct export of local agricultural products to foreign countries. It is a significant historical step which will directly benefit farmers, agriculturists, and agro-based businesses of not only Bhagalpur but also adjoining districts like Banka, Munger, Khagaria, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar and Araria million times. Union Minister Chirag Paswan gave a positive assurance on the proposal Union Food Processing Industries Minister, Chirag Paswan also heard the public welfare project with great concern and assured Komal Kriti that concrete and positive steps would be taken soon in this direction.If the Central Government gives its consent, this would prove to be a huge gift to the agriculture sector of eastern Bihar.
