
New Delhi: At the EICMA 2024 event in Italy, BMW Motorrad unveiled the F 450 GS concept model. It was subsequently showcased in New Delhi during January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Since then, the bike has been undergoing test rides on Indian roads.Recently, the BMW F 450 GS’s production version has been the focus of some online discussions. It is likely to be released within two to three months. In partnership with BMW, TVS intends to incorporate the F 450 GS into other forthcoming models, including Norton motorcycles.The F 450 GS’s production version stays true to the concept model with only minor changes. Parts like the radiator shrouds and front beaks as well as the fuel tanks and rear sections are mostly the same. In the production model, the overall exposed subframe from the concept version is missing. The overall design is based on the recently released BMW R 1300 GS, which was launched in India in January 2025.Adjustable controls, split seat, mid-mounted foot pegs, and a higher handlebar are some features of the bike. The rider triangle indicates that the bike is an Adventure Touring (ADV) motorcycle intended for long rides, not purely off-road, which is why BMW is aiming for a relaxed riding position with the F 450 GS. The headlamp, turn indicators, and tail-lamp cluster of the F 450 GS have full all-LED lighting. The bike is equipped with a broad color TFT instrument console, Bluetooth, and an auxiliary menu rotary dial for cluster function control. Also, the bike features switchable dual-channel ABS, traction control, multiple ride modes, and RX 450 GS also comes set with configuration for a customizable safety system. The F 450 GS features a trellis frame and bolt-on subframe. It is also equipped with front USD forks and a rear monoshock absorber. It has alloy tires with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear. The bike also comes equipped with front and rear disc brakes. This will be BMW’s entry-level motorcycle in the Indian market, replacing the now-discontinued G 310 GS.The F 450 GS is equipped with a 450cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder petrol engine which outputs 48 bhp and 45 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a 6-speed transmission. While the concept version had a curb weight of 175 kg, the production model is likely to be a bit heavier because of additional parts. Competing rivals for The BMW F 450 GS includes the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Honda NX500, and CFMoto 450 MT.
