This judicial expansion is designed to fast-track trials involving grave offenses that threaten national sovereignty and public safety.Empowering the Anti-Terror Prosecution FrameworkThe National Investigation Agency serves as India's premier federal counter-terrorism law enforcement agency, tasked with probing complex crimes that carry cross-border or pan-national implications. The jurisdiction of these specialized courts covers scheduled offenses explicitly listed under the NIA Act of 2008, which encompasses acts of terrorism, conspiracy against the state, and other designated security threats.The creation of these three new judicial forums was executed under Section 11 of the NIA Act, 2008.
