Marking the completion of his government's first 100 days in office, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary launched a massive state-wide infrastructure overhaul on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Addressing a milestone gathering at BIT Mesra in Patna, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 2,476 development projects valued at ₹11,461 crore. Outlining his vision to establish thriving industries across all 38 districts of Bihar, CM Chaudhary announced high-impact economic initiatives, including dedicated industrial corridors along the Kosi and Gandak rivers, a mega steel plant in Gayaji modeled after Jharkhand's Bokaro facility, and a flood master plan to permanently mitigate riverine surges originating from Nepal.Mega Industrial Parks, 25 New Sugar Mills, And Patna's Dedicated Jeevika Tower To Drive EmploymentTo accelerate industrial growth and regional job creation, the Chief Minister announced an electronics park in Rajapakad, Muzaffarpur, alongside a major industrial corridor at Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) Gaya. Together, these mega projects are projected to attract ₹20,000 crore to ₹30,000 crore in fresh investments while generating over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs. The state government has also pledged to operationalize 25 new sugar mills over the next five years. Furthermore, to empower women entrepreneurs, a state-of-the-art "Jeevika Tower" will be constructed in Patna as a centralized marketplace and commercial hub for products crafted by local Jeevika self-help group members.Civil Aviation Revolution: Darbhanga To Go International In November, Purnia Upgrade, And 9 New Regional AirportsIn a landmark decision to bolster air connectivity, CM Samrat Chaudhary announced that Darbhanga Airport will be upgraded to an international aviation hub, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi scheduled to inaugurate the expanded facility in November 2026. Purnia Airport will similarly be elevated to international status following an approved ₹206 crore development package. The state is actively working on launching 9 new regional airports, featuring two greenfield projects at Sonpur and Ajaibinath Sultanganj in Bhagalpur, along with airstrips at Veerpur (Supaul), Saharsa, Forbesganj (Araria), Kishanganj, Valmikinagar (West Champaran), Muzaffarpur, and Gopalganj. Additionally, the Chief Minister announced the "Chief Minister Scholarship" scheme to financially support native Bihari students pursuing higher education at Nalanda International University.
