New Delhi. US President Donald Trump has renewed his attack on former President Barack Obama by sharing a digitally manipulated video on Truth Social depicting FBI agents arresting his predecessor. The footage, created using artificial intelligence, opens with a clip of Obama intoning, “The President is not above the law.” It is followed by excerpted remarks from various American leaders repeating the refrain, “No one is above the law.”In the clip, two purported agents fit Obama with handcuffs while Trump, visible in the frame, smirks. The video concludes with a doctored image of Obama in a prison jumpsuit behind bars. Trump has not labeled the animation as a fabrication. Many commentators have branded the posting dangerously reckless. They argue that sharing such a piece without disclaimer risks misinforming a wide audience. The animation reappears after Trump’s recent allegations that Obama committed electoral fraud. The timing has intensified concerns about the propriety of a former president wielding the tools of social media in this manner.Tulsi Gabbard’s assertion Just days ago, Tulsi Gabbard, the US national intelligence director, asserted that she possesses evidence showing that in 2016, certain members of the Obama administration manufactured the narrative of a Trump-Russia conspiracy. According to Gabbard, the intention of the fabrication was to block Trump’s rise to the presidency and to execute a conspiracy against American democracy. She stated, “Now Americans will know the truth about how intelligence agencies were misused.” Russia did not seek to influence the election Nevertheless, the 114-page report issued by the DNI concludes that before the November 2016 election, US intelligence agencies assessed that Russia did not attempt to influence the election’s outcome directly. The report cites a December 8, 2016 intelligence update, asserting that Russia did not conduct a cyber operation aimed at altering the ballot counts or the election results.
