Motorcycle enthusiasts in India can finally get their hands on the highly anticipated Yamaha XSR 155, as deliveries of the neo-retro bike have reportedly commenced. This motorcycle, which shares its platform with the popular R15 V3 and MT-15, has been a topic of much discussion and is now being made available to Indian customers through private importers. The Yamaha XSR 155 stands out with its distinctive heritage-inspired design. It features a classic round LED headlamp and a matching round LED tail lamp, giving it a timeless appeal. The bike is equipped with a modern, fully digital instrument cluster that is circular in shape, blending vintage aesthetics with contemporary technology. Its comfortable, single-piece seat and muscular fuel tank complete the retro look.Underneath its classic styling, the XSR 155 boasts modern performance hardware. It is powered by the same 155cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine found in the R15 and MT-15. This engine is renowned for its performance, producing 18.6 horsepower and 14.1 Nm of torque, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox that includes a slipper and assist clutch for smoother gear shifts. The bike is built on a durable deltabox frame and features upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock, a setup that promises excellent handling and ride quality. It is important to note that Yamaha has not officially launched the XSR 155 in India. These initial units are being brought into the country via private import channels.
