Drive Smarter, Save More: ₹3,000 FASTag Annual Pass Coming August 15, But e-KYC is a Must

New Fastag Toll Pass: We now have less than a month to go. Starting August 15, you can buy the yearly Fastag toll pass for Rs 3000. A Rs 3000 recharge means you can pass through 200 tolls for the next 12 months without paying extra. We’ve already shown you how to set up a Fastag pass. We’ve now learned that the new toll rules require you to complete e-KYC to get the yearly pass. If you skip e-KYC, the recharge won’t go through. Even if it somehow does, the pass won’t work. So, before August 15, make sure you complete the e-KYC for your Fastag. If you don’t, your tag will be useless. And remember, if your Fastag balance is already negative, add money now. Don’t assume the new toll pass is a separate account, so you don’t have to recharge your Fastag. If the balance is negative, the Rs 3000 recharge won’t be accepted.Blacklisted FastagsFastags that haven’t completed the eKYC process will cease to work, period. You might leave home ready to pay the toll, but the moment you reach the booth, the display will read “blacklist.” A troubling number of Fastags already show negative balances. Failing to clear those dues by the deadline means a one-way ticket to the blacklist.Step-by-step e-KYCCompleting e-KYC isn’t hard; you can do it from your couch. First, visit the website of the bank or provider that issued your Fastag. Look for the KYC section and follow the prompts. You’ll upload the RC of your vehicle, your Aadhaar, and any other required ID. After you submit, the system will send you an OTP or may ask to scan your face using the phone camera. Once you enter the OTP or pass the scan, you’re done. Prefer a human touch? Walk into your nearest branch and wrap it up in minutes. Here’s how to do it step-by-step Let’s say your FASTag is with Axis Bank. First open the Axis Bank app or website. Then find the Services menu and pick FASTag. Next, choose KYC Update and upload the needed documents. After that, send the form and verify it with the OTP they send you. Now, to check the status of your FASTag: **Step 1:** Go to the NPCI website. Under What We Do, click NETC FASTag. Then pick Check Your NETC FASTag Status. **Step 2:** A new page will come up. Type in your vehicle number or FASTag number. Fill the captcha and hit Check Status. Your FASTag details will load up on screen. The Rs 3,000 pass will work only on this route. The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has made this pass valid only at NHAI and National Express toll plazas. For state toll plazas, you still need to pay from your FASTag the same as before.
