
Indian farmers are keenly waiting for the announcement of the 20th installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana, which is said to be released on August 2, 2025. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister, is likely to commence the transfer of ₹2,000 to each eligible farmer as part of a larger function which will also take place in Varanasi, UP. These funds will help farmers in meeting their basic agricultural and other related expenses. Farmers meeting the eligibility criteria are paid ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each for the PM-KISAN scheme. The funds are directly transferred to their accounts every four months. The government aims to improve the agricultural sector, along with the economy and the lives of the farmers and rural population through this scheme. Till now, 9.8 crore farmers have benefitted from this program. Farmers KYC and Aadhaar details pertaining to their bank accounts need to be linked to ensure they receive the next payment without any issues. KYC for the PM-Kisan scheme can be done through various means like OTP based authentication on the portal, biometric authentication at Common Service Centres (CSCs), and face authentication through the PM-Kisan app. It is advisable that beneficiaries should check their details and status on the portal frequently and ensure that they are updated.Farmers must hold cultivable land as a prerequisite for the scheme and are subject to certain exclusions like not being income tax payers or pensioners past a certain limit. The government keeps updating beneficiaries using its formal communications. Following the procedures as mentioned is critical for support without interruption.
