The last few hours have seen moderate to heavy rainfall, and the India Meteorological Department has issued alerts.Rain hampered vehicular movementBeginning from Sunday night up until Monday morning, rainfall was persistent in the national capital Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, and even Ghaziabad-Noida in Uttar Pradesh. In numerous parts of Delhi-NCR, the rainfall enforced a decrease in the velocity of vehicle movement. There was a traffic jam-like condition in several roads and inter-state highways. The ISBT Kashmiri Gate area saw traffic slowdown along with waterlogging in many areas.Likelihood of thunderstormsAs of the available report, The Meteorological Department forecasts the minimum temperature in Delhi on Monday at 27 degrees Celsius and the maximum at 33 degrees Celsius. The IMD had already issued an orange alert for some areas of Delhi-NCR. There is a forecast of rains of moderate to heavy intensity in Delhi and several nearby regions in the coming days. The meteorological department is saying that the sky will be mostly overcast. There is a possibility of some thundershowers in Delhi during the next two days as well.Indigo Airlines announced a travel alert In regard to the bad weather, the airline Indigo has canceled some of their flights. In the case of the airlines, their flights were affected and therefore, they had to suspend some of their flights. IndiGo posted an advisory which says “We thank you for your patience. Our team is working with air traffic control to enable necessary flights. Unfortunately, because Delhi is receiving continuous rain, we have had to suspend some flights. We will try to give updates as frequently as possible.” IndiGo stated, “Make sure to check your travel notifications on our site or mobile application and keep monitoring your flight status for possible delays.”
