While most of the state has remained dry so far, the following areas are likely to see light to moderate rain and thunderstorms:North Gujarat: Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, Aravalli, Dahod, and Mahisagar.Saurashtra & Kutch: Isolated places in the Kutch district are expected to witness lightning and showers.Wind Speed: During the thunderstorms, surface winds could gust up to 30–40 kmph, providing a significant break from the stagnant heat.Temperature to Drop by 2–3 DegreesThe mercury, which has been hovering above normal in cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, and Rajkot, is expected to see a gradual fall.Ahmedabad Forecast: The maximum temperature is likely to dip from 39°C to around 36°C - 37°C by Sunday.Surat & South Gujarat: While the weather will remain mostly humid, light drizzles in isolated pockets will help bring down the 'thermal discomfort' level.Advisory for Farmers and FishermenSince this is the peak time for certain summer crops and salt production in Kutch, the authorities have issued an advisory:Fishermen Warning: Fishermen are advised not to venture into the North Gujarat coast and Gulf of Kutch for the next three days due to expected squally weather.Crop Protection: Farmers in North Gujarat are urged to cover their harvested produce and avoid keeping seeds in open fields.Safety During Lightning: Residents are advised to stay away from electric poles and isolated trees during the thunderstorm activity.When Will the Dry Weather Return?According to the 7-day forecast, this wet spell is temporary. The rain activity is expected to peak on Sunday (March 29) and subside by Tuesday (March 31). From April 1 onwards, dry weather is likely to return, and temperatures may start rising again as the peak summer sets in.
