Gurugram Real Estate Goldmine? ₹365 Crore Approved to Transform Farrukhnagar Road into 4-Lane Expressway

In a massive boost to the Millennium City’s infrastructure, the Haryana government has greenlit a ₹365 crore project to convert the existing Gurugram-Farrukhnagar road into a high-speed 4-lane highway. This move is expected to drastically reduce travel time, decongest local traffic, and skyrocket property prices in the surrounding sectors. The Blueprint: A 28-KM TransformationThe Public Works Department (PWD) has finalized the plan to widen the stretch starting from Dhankot to Farrukhnagar. Currently a narrow two-lane road prone to bottlenecks, the transformation into a four-lane corridor will feature:Service Lanes: Dedicated lanes for local commuters to ensure the main highway remains high-speed.Modern Intersections: Redesigning of key junctions to prevent accidents and ensure smooth merging.Drainage System: A comprehensive storm-water drain network to prevent waterlogging, a common issue during Haryana's monsoons. Why This Project is a Big Deal?Connectivity to KMP Expressway: This road serves as a vital link between Gurugram and the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway. The widening will facilitate faster freight movement.Relief for Commuters: Thousands of professionals living in New Gurugram (Sectors 81-102) and working in the Farrukhnagar industrial hub will see their commute cut by 20–30 minutes.Logistics Hub Boost: Farrukhnagar is emerging as a major warehousing and logistics base for North India; better roads will attract more MNCs to the region.Impact on Property PricesReal estate experts predict a 15–20% appreciation in land and apartment prices along the Farrukhnagar corridor. "With the Dwarka Expressway already operational, the widening of this feeder road makes the entire belt a prime zone for residential and commercial investment," says a leading property consultant.Timeline for ConstructionThe tender process is expected to begin within the next month, with a construction deadline set for 18 to 24 months. The state government has directed officials to ensure minimal disruption to existing traffic during the widening process.
