Harshdeep Kaur performs at Odisha's Baliyatra 2025, calls it a "great experience"

Recently, acclaimed vocalist Harshdeep Kaur captivated visitors at the 2023 Baliyatra fair in Cuttack with a captivating performance.In an interview with the press, Harshdeep expressed her enjoyment of the fair and her participation in the Baliyatra fair."The joy on my face says it all! The crowd, as well as the fair, was fantastic," Harshdeep stated.She has performed in different areas of the state, including Bhubeshwar and Jajpur, and she was astonished by the fair once she walked in. "I was in disbelief after entering the fair. The decorations, the stalls and everything else looked so beautiful. I would like to visit the fair with my family and not as an artist," she concluded. Baliyatra is a significant cultural festival in Odisha. The festival as released Baliyatra 2023 fair on the 5th to 12th of November with the possibility of an additional day pending state government approval. The 2025 edition is thematically titled "Cuttack in Cuttack--Celebrating Odia Language and Literature," prioritizing the promotion of the state's rich literary and cultural traditions. The festival currently aims to modify the themes of the festival to preserve the rich literary and cultural heritage of the state.Baliyatra will be celebrated from the 5th to 12th of November with the possibility of a one-day extension based on approval from the State Government." Collector Dattatraya Shinde informed that "Baliyatra will host Bollywood as well as Hollywood performances but the main focus for this year will be promoting the Odia language and the literary works of the state. In this regard, we will be giving away one lakh books to children." Collector Shinde informed on the “Experience Zone” which shall exhibit historical trade journeys "There will be two anamorphic 3D screens with different scenes as well as the releasing of 25,000 sal leaf boats made by tribals from Mayurbhanj which will be sent down a river to carry a message of environmental preservation and continuation of a tradition." “Aside from Bollywood and Hollywood performances, this year's Baliyatra will include and integrate innovative cultural performances, new exhibitions, and awareness activities providing a truly holistic celebration of the state and its heritage.
