The reshuffle, orchestrated under the directives of Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, signals a clear effort by the state to streamline the workload of key officials while empowering others with additional strategic portfolios.Key Leadership Changes and Additional ChargesThe transfers reflect a strategic pivot in departmental oversight. Senior IAS officer Apurv Kumar Singh, currently serving as Additional Chief Secretary for Higher Education and Public Works (Buildings and Roads), has been assigned the additional responsibility of the Architecture Department. Similarly, Principal Secretary Pankaj Yadav has taken on the mantle of Chairperson for the Haryana Water Resources Authority, alongside his existing roles in the Cooperation and Public Health departments.Streamlining Bureaucracy: Reduction in WorkloadA notable feature of this reshuffle is the reduction of departmental burdens for several senior commissioners. Key officials have been relieved of additional charges to allow for more focused governance:Sanjay Joon (Faridabad Commissioner): Relieved of duties as DG and Secretary, Military and Paramilitary Welfare.Ravi Prakash Gupta (Gurugram Commissioner): Relieved of duties as Secretary, Haryana Urban Estates.Rajiv Ratan (Karnal Commissioner): Relieved of duties as DG, Science and Technology Department.Sachin Gupta (Rohtak DC): Relieved of duties as Additional Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources.Aparajita (Kaithal DC): Relieved of duties as Additional Secretary, Fisheries.New Appointments and HCS ReallocationsThe reshuffle also sees targeted appointments aimed at strengthening municipal and local administration. Satyendra Duhan has been appointed as the Commissioner of the Rohtak Municipal Corporation, while also taking charge as the Director and Additional Secretary of the Skill Development and Industrial Training Department. Meanwhile, Shakti Singh has been entrusted with the newly created position of Director of the State Audit Department, alongside his existing role at the Haryana State Cooperative Sugar Mills Federation. In other notable changes, Karnal Municipal Corporation Commissioner Saloni Sharma now holds the additional charge of District Municipal Commissioner, Karnal, and Abhinav Siwach has been relieved of his post as District Municipal Commissioner, Jhajjar. Among HCS officers, Gaurav Chauhan has been assigned the critical task of Land Acquisition Officer in Panchkula, reflecting the state's focus on infrastructure readiness.
