Haryana Daughters Outrun Men: 14 Female Football Players Cover 300 KM on Foot for Inspiring Dak Kanwad Yatra

Proving that grit, determination, and devotion know no gender boundaries, a remarkable group of young women from Haryana has captured the nation's attention. Fourteen dynamic female football players from Dhani village in Bhiwani district embarked on an extraordinary 300-kilometer Dak Kanwad Yatra all the way from Haridwar. Outperforming male counterparts with unmatched stamina and speed, these national-level athletes traversed national highways while carrying holy Ganges water to perform Jalabhishek at their village temple, sending out a powerful message of women's empowerment. From the Football Field to the Path of Faith: The 300-KM JourneyThe inspiring tradition began four years ago under the guidance of their football coach, Kaluram, who supported the idea of bringing a Dak Kanwad. This year, sisters Neha, Preeti, and Nidhi Phogat took a solemn vow to fetch holy water from Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar, inspiring 11 other fellow athletes from their training group to join the sacred mission. Rigorously trained for endurance, the girls ritually collected Ganges water at 6:15 AM on Monday and began their continuous run toward Haryana. Traveling along the bustling Delhi-Dehradun highway and passing through the Pinna bypass by Monday evening, the team maintained a blistering pace, setting a target to cover the massive 300-kilometer distance to Dhani Phogat within a strict timeframe.Surpassing Men and Inspiring the Nation with Unmatched StaminaAs the group of 14 athletes—featuring players like Neha Jangra, Khushi Rajput, Pari, Antima, Poonam, Neelu, Vanita, Komal, and Mannu—ran swiftly past onlookers, they left fellow travelers and male kanwarias stunned. Coach Kaluram, who accompanied the team every step of the way, proudly noted that the girls easily surpassed male kanwad groups along the route, demonstrating that physical endurance and spiritual resolve are universal. Nidhi Phogat, who was undertaking her fourth Kanwad pilgrimage, shared that their prayers to Lord Shiva were dedicated entirely to the peace, prosperity, and national progress of the country, turning a traditional pilgrimage into a shining emblem of modern female strength.
