It's a matter which arose when allegedly, a man in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur district dies during a bet of eating 50 eggs.What's the matter?The media reports say that two friends were having an argument in Bibiganj Bazaar, Jaunpur. They decide to end the argument by placing a bet of Rs 2,000 and it was made for whoever would finish 50 eggs at first. 42 year old Subhash Yadav was allegedly eating his 42nd egg when suddenly he collapses. It is said that onlookers rush him to the hospital. Later, he was referred to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences for proper treatment but he passed away in just a few hours. The doctors who treated him were said to have identified heavy food consumption that might have severely affected his body. However, the family denied it.Will eating so many eggs cause problems?Experts say that consuming so many eggs will simultaneously create an imbalance on your digestive system and can even lead to vomiting, aspiration, major stomachaches or it may also result in problems to the heart. Also, egg yolks are full of cholesterol, consuming large amount is unhygienic. It has been claimed by a study that 1 egg per day can result in death by 7%. But the scientists feel more studies need to be performed to ascertain it.What should be noted?As stated by researcher Yigu Zhang, of Zhejiang University in China, "Our findings indicated that substituting whole eggs for egg whites or other protein sources may be favorable to heart health and longevity." The researchers also concluded that " Cholesterol intake had a significantly associated with elevated mortality."Professor Riaz Patel, consultant cardiologist at University College London also said that,"For most people eggs are safe and are a valuable component of a healthy diet unless stated by your doctor."
