
A red alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for Delhi-NCR as well as Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. This warning has been issued for August 10 and 11, 2025 as it is expected that inclement weather will set in and require close monitoring from those in charge. Widespread heavy rains have led to significant flooding on roads, swollen rivers, and landslide concerns, especially in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Regions that are usually prone to these such natural disasters have been cautioned to be on high alert for the possibility of cloudbursts and flash floods. In Delhi-NCR, the heavy rainfall has caused severe flooding of the roads and water-logged streets which has disrupted normal activities. The cloud-coverage will continue and the unsettled weather will have the region’s temperature averaging between 27.5°C to 34.5°C. The heavy rainfall is being observed in the key districts of Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, Barabanki, Gorakhpur, and Bahraich. The rainfall is forecasted to increase in western parts of Uttar Pradesh which would result in some areas reporting temperatures lower than 30°C. In contrast, Bihar is still seeing the off-season monsoon activity with precipitation in regions like Banka, Bhagalpur, Purnia, and Katihar. This combination of climate leads to the temperature being around 30 to 34°C.In Haryana, regions like Manesar, Jhajjar, Rewari, and Nuh are expecting light rain and light drizzle along with brisk winds, with speeds between 30 and 40 km/h. Due to safety concerns, experts have issued certain travel recommendations and warnings for some regions around Uttarakhand, especially in relation to landslides, for both residents and travelers. Public safety alerts have also been issued for heavy rainfall and the possibility of thunderstorms in the following 2 days in Himachal Pradesh. Due to the severe weather being reported, there are warnings for flooding in certain regions, asides from travel restrictions, all of which are weather related. There is a draw for everyone in the region to take care, and follow the guidelines and travel recommendations issued.
