
ISRO is set to construct the country’s second-largest space station in Gujarat, following the one at Sriharikota. Work on this specific project is resuming with renewed vigor. We had an exclusive conversation with ISRO's director regarding the investment of 10,000 crores for the construction of the second space station. Under the Center-State collaborative initiative, Gujarat Space Station will be developed on the PPP model. This high-tech space station will be built between Diu and Veraval. SALV-PSLV will be launched from here.ISRO has its primary rocket launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh This is the site from which India has launched numerous historical missions. From this center, many satellites from India and other countries have been put into orbit using PSLV and GSLV rockets.The economic and technological advancements from the Space Mission policy of Gujarat are poised to be astonishing. The ease of access to Ekwater for space launching will give tremendous advantage to Gujarat. Today, 70 per cent of ISRO's programme is directed towards communication, navigation and remote sensing. By 2026, Chandrayaan 5, Main-on-Main Gaganyaan and Venus Orbit Missions are expected to be completed. With the setting up of Gujarat Space Station, India’s space missions will gain further impetus. ISRO's NEXT Big Move: India's 2nd Largest Space Hub Coming to Gujarat!As we earlier reported, the government of Gujarat announced a dedicated policy on April 2025 to give different types of incentives and atap institutions in the industry of space technology. A net issued report recently mentioned that with the initiation of 'Spacetech Policy 2025-2030', Gujarat became the first state in India to have such a special policy designed out for the space sector. For efficient execution of the said policy, the state government will coordinate with ISRO, IN-SPACe and the Ministry of Space.
