Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : The notification has been released for the election of two Rajya Sabha seats in Jharkhand. Both the seats had become vacant following the death of Shibu Soren and the retirement of Deepak Prakash. From June 1 to June 8 will be the nominations, on June 18 will be the voting and counting. There is a high level of suspense regarding the candidate names of both the alliances. Discussion is going on with respect to candidates; 28 votes are required to win the seat, with the incumbent JMM-led All India Alliance being in the sure position to win two seats with 56 MLAs. With 24 MLAs,NDA will have to acquire 4 more seats to win just 1 seat. Let's see if the NDA can manage an upset.Can withdraw candidate till June 11The notification for two seats of Rajya Sabha election in Jharkhand has been released and a keen battle is predicted. According to the schedule released by Election Commission, nomination would start from June 1 to June 8. June 9 has been set for scrutiny of nomination papers and on June 11 candidates will be able to withdraw nomination till 3 PM. Voting would be on June 18 from 9am to 4pm, thereafter the counting would be done at 5pm.Candidate name remains suspenseAlong with the candidate names of the candidate from the ruling party and opposition, suspense also prevailed over candidate names, on which discussions are on, while rumors are also in the air.Claim of JMM is confirmed; would Congress get one seatDiscussions with respect to candidates names are underway and various meetings are being held by the ruling All India Alliance. JMM, being one of the alliance parties, has a strong hold on one seat while Congress has been wanting to present their candidate from another seat but the decision has yet not been finalized. BJP has also demanded one seat, the announcement of the candidate name hasn't been done so far.Political calculations regarding majorityIn the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly, 28 votes are necessary for one seat, and political experts are saying that the Hemant Soren led Grand Alliance, (JMM- 34, Congress- 16, RJD- 4 and CPI(ML)- 2, total-56 MLAs) have enough members to win two seats and discuss will take time as regarding to who gets which seat among allies.Can NDA make a come back in electionsThe NDA (BJP-10, AJSU-2, JDU-1 and LJP-1, total-24 MLAs) have 24 members and thus required to bag 4 additional members to win one seat. Political experts claim that they have to rely on cross voting by independents and others, the NDA will have to manage 4 more votes if they want to fight 1 seat in the election; let's see if the NDA can make a come back in the elections with the total of 24 MLAs.
