Jharkhand is gearing up for a massive technological transformation, stepping out of its traditional image to carve a niche in India's booming digital economy. Chief Minister Hemant Soren is preparing to unveil a comprehensive digital roadmap at the National Stakeholders Consultation 2026, scheduled for July 8 and 9 in New Delhi. By pitching the state's tech capabilities to over 100 leading global and domestic tech companies, the Jharkhand government aims to position the state as a pioneer in Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital governance, and future technologies, moving beyond mere innovation to citizen-centric service delivery.100-Acre Ranchi IT Park to Drive Mega InvestmentsA major highlight of this strategic push is the ambitious Ranchi IT Park, which will be officially presented as a premium investment destination. Spread across 100.97 acres in the core capital region, this high-tech campus boasts unparalleled connectivity, strategically located adjacent to IIM Ranchi and the Birsa Munda Airport. To attract industry giants, the state is heavily banking on its robust talent pool of over 20,000 annual IT graduates. Furthermore, the highly lucrative Jharkhand IT Policy 2023 will be showcased, which offers unmatched incentives in Eastern India, including a 50 percent capital investment reimbursement and a 100 percent exemption on both stamp and electricity duties.Decoding the Draft AI Policy 2026-2031During the high-profile consultation in Delhi, state officials will present the visionary Draft AI Policy 2026 to key industry stakeholders. This forward-looking framework proposes the creation of a dedicated State AI Mission, which will be directly chaired by the Chief Minister. Additionally, JAP-IT will be established as the central nodal agency. A critical component of this policy is the development of a state-of-the-art Jharkhand AI Cloud, designed to be fully interoperable with the broader IndiaAI ecosystem, ensuring seamless technological integration and administrative efficiency across government departments.CM-DIP: Revolutionizing Good GovernanceAligning with the central government's 'AI for All' vision, Jharkhand's strategy focuses on integrating AI into four crucial sectors: good governance, agriculture and rural livelihood, healthcare, and mineral resources administration. The Chief Minister will introduce the Chief Minister's Data Intelligence Platform (CM-DIP), an AI-enabled centralized system. This platform will securely integrate departmental data to monitor state schemes in real-time and enhance decision-making. To ensure technology reaches the grassroots level, CM-DIP will feature digital kiosks in Panchayat buildings and WhatsApp-based feedback mechanisms, delivering crucial government services to citizens directly in their local languages.
