Kim Jong Un gave a warning to America and South Korea, said- 'The situation is getting serious'

Seoul: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has sent a sharp warning about the current military drills taking place between South Korea and the United States. He pledged to speed up the country’s nuclear program to face what he calls a growing threat from its enemies. State media released the details on Tuesday after Kim toured a new warship believed to have nuclear strike capabilities.‘Immediate steps are necessary’During a visit to the 5,000-ton warship named the *Choe Hyon*, which first appeared in April, Kim accused the U.S. and South Korean forces of using the drills to prepare for an attacking war. North Korea’s official news outlet, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), reported that Kim views the recent introduction of nuclear arms into the exercises as crossing a dangerous line that forces the North to begin broad and decisive countermeasures.‘Conditions are shifting’KCNA quoted Kim as stating, “Day by day, the security environment surrounding the DPRK is growing more and more perilous.”In this context, a drastic shift in North Korea’s military strategy is underway, with a push to quickly boost its nuclear capability. During a recent speech, Kim Jong Un lauded the Navy’s newly launched destroyer, the the *Choe Hyon*, claiming it would bolster the North’s overall military might. What about the U.S. and South Korea’s response? Interestingly, the day Kim inspected the *Choe Hyon*, South Korea and the United States kicked off their annual joint exercise, *Ulchi Freedom Shield*. The drills, which include about 21,000 troops (18,000 South Korean, the rest U.S. personnel), aim to sharpen defense against North Korea’s nuclear threats. The allies characterize the exercise as purely defensive, but the North has consistently branded it as a rehearsal for invasion.
