
A political firestorm has erupted following remarks by former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah concerning "Operation Sindoor." Union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh strongly criticized Abdullah's statement, accusing him of overlooking national interests in favor of "selfish politics.Singh asserted that the public is now rejecting leaders who prioritize their political self-interest. He stated, “Many people do not keep the national interest in mind and are only limited to how to save their selfish politics. It is sad, but the public is also starting to reject such people.”The minister pointed to the recent Bihar elections as a clear indication that citizens are voting for the nation's strength and future.The controversy began after a blast at the Naugaon police station, after which Abdullah commented on "Operation Sindoor." The National Conference president claimed the operation achieved nothing, instead leading to the loss of lives and compromising the borders Abdullah expressed his hope that such an operation would not be repeated and emphasized the need for better relations between the two countries, quoting former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee: “friends can be changed, but neighbours cannot.”In response to this, Singh reiterated that while such statements are disheartening, the public has learned to see through and dismiss such political maneuvering.Separately, addressing the security situation following the November 10 Red Fort blast in Delhi, which claimed 12 lives and was declared a terrorist incident, Singh assured that all involved would be brought to justice. He affirmed that terror modules are being dismantled and praised the security forces for successfully apprehending terrorists and seizing incriminating materials. He confirmed that six individuals have been arrested in connection with the blast as the investigation continues.
