Vande Bharat Ticket Booking Policies: Ticketing hurdles for Vande Bharat Express travelers have been eased recently. You can now book a ticket just 15 minutes prior to the departure of the Vande Bharat Express train. As reported by Ahmedabad Mirror, Western Railway may implement this system for travelers soon. For now, the Southern Railway has initiated this service as a pilot project since July 17, where the 'current booking' functionality is available for eight Vande Bharat trains.Now passengers can book tickets for Vande Bharat trains through the internet, but the booking is limited to 15 minutes prior to the train's departure. Presently, this is applicable to the Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express and its return service. Earlier, an annoying rule where ticket purchasing from forward stations would be disabled once a train left its originating station has been improved under the new system. This offers considerably greater flexibility for travelers.Booking will be done based on availabilityAs per senior officials of Western Railway, if it is implemented in Southern Railway and receives positive feedback from travelers, then it will be adopted all over Western Railway including Ahmedabad. As per the news of Ahmedabad Mirror, a senior official of Central Railway informs that the facility has been implemented on eight Vande Bharat trains operating in his division and it is dependent on seat availability. Passengers can book these tickets through the internet as well. As per railway officials, these facilities will be more advantageous for people coming from tier-2 cities and small towns. This is good for last-minute travelers and helps improve the occupancy rates of seats on higher-class trains.
