Laura Ingraham touts Trump's economic successes, criticizes Biden's policies
Fox News’s Laura Ingraham has recurrently praised former President Donald Trump for the economic advances that occurred under his administration, using them to vindicate his tenure in the Oval Office. In “The Ingraham Angle,” she highlighted numerous economic metrics from his presidency, frequently using them to support her claim that the current administration's policies are undermining the economy. Among the relatively better economic indicators was Trump’s lower unemployment rate, especially with more jobs in the construction and manufacturing sector. Ingraham has argued that these positions benefited the American middle-class financially. She also praised the growth stimulating economic policies Trump undertook, especially his Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. In her view, the Act positioned the American economy well pre-pandemic. Ingraham further highlighted the administration’s deregulations, arguing that they created a business-friendly climate that spurred job creation and economic growth. Business consultant Grant Cardone also shared some of these policies, hailing Trump for having the “Midas touch,” and assigning to his presidency a budget surplus, growth in manufacturing employment, and increased international business, some of which he credited to strategic tariffs.Ingraham pointed out how Trump’s economic policies, specifically tax cuts, deregulation, and achieving energy independence, have blue-collar wages surpassing white-collar wages and leading to “rejuvenation of the economy.” She compares this to the disapproving narrative put forth about the Biden administration, which she argues has killed small businesses, caused rampant inflation, and increased foreign energy dependence. Ingraham also claimed that Trump has performed “consistently better on economic issues than the so-called experts” and in her view, his administration’s policies were effective and advantageous to the Americans.
