Raipur double murder case: A horrifying incident has unfolded in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. In the Mowa area of the Pandri police station area, a young man, enraged after a dispute with his wife, shot and killed two of his sisters-in-law. The accused, identified as Jitendra Verma alias Jittu, has been arrested by the police. A licensed pistol and cartridges have also been recovered from his possession.Jitendra Verma works as a bouncer and has long suspected his wife Khileswari's character. This led to daily disputes between the couple. On Tuesday, they quarreled again, after which the wife left for her parents' home with their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. Unable to contact her, the accused arrived at his in-laws' house in Mowa Bazaar around 10:30 pm.He was insisting on meeting his daughter.The accused had brought a licensed pistol with him and was insistent on meeting the girl. His 26-year-old sister-in-law, Geetanjali, came out and tried to persuade him to go back. She said they would discuss the matter in the morning in front of family members. Angered by this, the accused suddenly pulled out his pistol and fired at Geetanjali. The bullet struck her forehead, causing her to fall to the ground on the spot.Hearing the gunshot, another sister-in-law, Durgeshwari (24), came down from the roof. The accused also fired at her. The bullet hit her in the back, seriously injuring her. Bystanders immediately rushed both sisters to the hospital. Doctors there declared Geetanjali dead, while Durgeshwari succumbed to her injuries during treatment.The accused fled from the spot after the incidentThe incident caused panic in the area. The accused fled the scene, but was taken into custody by police shortly afterward. Neighbors say the accused was often suspicious of his wife, leading to frequent fights in the home.Upon receiving information about the incident, police officers arrived at the scene and began an investigation. A police officer stated that initial investigations revealed a domestic dispute. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
