
LPG Price Notice: Change in the Harga LPG cylinder may be effective from August 1. The prices of LPG cylinders are adjusted on the first of every month. The prices of commercial cylinders tend to drop or increase. The rates of domestic cylinders are not tampered with much. This is corroborated by data from Indian Oil. There has not been any increase in the rate of domestic LPG cylinders since April this year. However, the rates of commercial cylinders are subject to frequent changes every month. Once again, a change in the rate of domestic cylinders appears unlikely.When is the last time the price of domestic LPG cylinder adjusted?The last time increase was on July 8 2025, at which point the domestic LGP cylinder price in Delhi was 853. 303. The price of cylinder was held steady at that price. Prior to that, there was a 200 reduction of price on LPG cylinder on August 30 2023.Cost of Cylinder Reduced by Rs 300As of March 1, 2023, the domestic LPG cylinder was sold for Rs 1103 in Delhi. After the price reduction of Rs 200, the new price was Rs 903. On March 9, 2024, there was another significant reduction of Rs 100, bringing the price down to Rs 803. Therefore, in a span of just over two years, the price of the LPG cylinder decreased by Rs 300, with an increase of Rs 50 at some point, which means the total net relief was Rs 250.What was the domestic LPG cylinder price on 1 August 2014As of 1 August 2014, the price of the domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi was Rs 920. In Kolkata it was priced at Rs 964.5, in Mumbai Rs 947, and in Chennai Rs 922. A year later, by 1 August 2015, there was a significant reduction in LPG pricing, bringing it down to Rs 585 in Delhi, Rs 619 in Kolkata, Rs 599 in Mumbai, and Rs 603.5 Chennai.As per Indian Oil, the cost of the 14 kg domestic cylinder in Delhi was reduced to Rs 487 on 1 August 2016. In Kolkata, it was priced at Rs 514, while in Mumbai it was Rs 485 and Rs 499.5 in Chennai. From there, the domestic cylinder cost was updated to Rs 524 for Delhi, 543 for Kolkata, 502.5 for Mumbai and 533 for Chennai. By the spiraling inflation in the year of 2018, the price of LPG cylinder further increased to 789.5 in Delh, 817.5 in Kolkata, 764.5 in Mumbai and 806 in Chennai. By 1st August, 2019, the revised prices for domestic cylinders were 574.5 in Delhi, 601 in Kolkata, 546.5 in Mumbai and 590.5 in Chennai. In the mid 2020’s, the price remained stagnant at 594 in Delhi, 621 in Kolkata, matched the price in Mumbai at 594 and 610.5 in Chennai. By August 17, 2021, for the first time in years the prices had surged to 14 kg cylinder Rs 859.50 in Delhi, 886.00 in Kolkata, while Mumbai kept the price the same at 859.50 and 875.50 in Chennai.As of August 30, 2023, LPG cylinder prices were: Delhi Rs 903.00, Kolkata Rs 929.00, Mumbai Rs 902.50, and Chennai Rs 918.50.
