Mandi Cloud Burst: In the Talwara village of Mandi District, 10-month-old Nitika may be the only survivor of her family after a devastating cloud burst washed away three members and several other individuals. On Tuesday, her father Ramesh Kumar, aged 31, was attempting to prevent water from flooding his house. He perished when the cloudburst obliterated his village, and his remains were subsequently discovered amongst the wreckage.How neighbors helped to save the girl’s lifeReports suggested that Ramesh’s mother Radha, aged 24, and his grandmother Purnu, aged 59, left the house looking for Ramesh. As of now, both the women remain unaccounted for. Prem Singh, the neighbor, noticed the girl sobbing and took her to Ramesh’s cousin Balwant, who works as a personal security officer for the ex CM, Jai Ram Thakur. Balwant stated, “The girl is with us.” to PTI.Community help comes forth He added that the sub-divisional magistrate intends to establish a bank account for the girl, and this will be done tomorrow. “He (the SDM) informed me that there is a lot of demand coming in and people are helping out after listening to the news. So, it is good.” Balwant stated. The areas most affected by the cloud burst include Pawara, Thunag, Baidshad, Kanda, and Murad. All the panchayats are, as of now, facing severe damages to roads and water and power schemes due to the cloud bursts.To date, fourteen people have diedMandi Cloudburst: Officials reported that ten cloudburst, flash flood, and landslide incidents in Mandi district have claimed fourteen lives, and the search continues for 31 people who are unaccounted for. Balwant remarked that Ramesh lost his father at the age of six months. Ramesh, a farmer, struggled to make ends meet and relied on Poornu Devi's wages as a school peon for household expenses. With only seven months until her retirement, Poornu was looking forward to completing her tenure. For her treatment, Nitika's relatives have been provided a relief of Rs 25,000.
