
Namo Bharat stations updates: The 3 newly constructed Namo Bharat stations between Meerut South and Modipuram are expected to be operational by the end of this month. These new stations will greatly facilitate the operationalization of the entire corridor of the 82 km long Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Rail (RRTS) network. The three stations are Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul, and Modipuram. As per an NCRTC (National Capital Region Transport Corporation) official, the southeastern Jangpura station under construction will temporarily function as a terminal where Namo Bharat trains can be parked until further extension works beyond Sarai Kale Khan are undertaken.Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro trains will operate simultaneously on one common section of the infrastructureMetro trains will operate on shared infrastructure because it simplifies the integration of services until the subsequent phases of construction progress. The same official noted that the other station Begumpul lies underground within the markt area in Mapper. This is the largest station of the corridor with a length of 246m, a width of 24.5m and a depth of around 22 m. The same official also noted that construction works of the last station at Modipuram on the national highway were done.Delhi's Sarai Kale Khan station will serve as a multi-modal transport hubThe official said, “Safe pedestrian access for people walking on National highway has also been provided via a foot over bridge.” The construction progress of Sarai Kale station in Delhi reveals that it is nearly finished. It is programmed to function as a significant multi-modal transport hub integrating Sarai Kale Khan Hazrat Nizamuddin Metro Station, Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, Veer Haqiqat Rai ISBT and Ring Road on the Pink Line of Delhi Metro.
