
The IMD has warned of thunderstorms, heavy rains, and lightning activities within Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, MP, Bihar, Rajasthan, and the hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir in early August. In their predictions, the IMD stated that the capital will be overcast the entire day on August 1, with chances of lightning strikes and minimal rainfall. The high for the day will be around 34, and 24 will be the minimum temperature for the day. The first week of August does seem promising with some light rains. According to the IMD, there also seem to be chances of heavy precipitation in the western regions of UP today, August 1, 2025. This encompasses the regions near Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnpur, Baghpat, and also includes Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Agra, Bijnor, Amroha, and Moradabad Rampur Bareilly. In MP, severe flooding has newly impacted hundreds of villages in several districts bordering the rivers. The situation remains critically impacted due to the flooding in the Gwalior Chambal region from the rising waters of the Chambal river caused by the release of water from the Kota barrage Naunar dam of Rajasthan.Flooding situation of Rajasthan’s several areas The recent rainfall in Rajasthan has led to severe flooding in several areas as a result of rains the water levels in the Chambal and Parvat rivers have risen significantly. The NDRF and SDRF have helped transport over 1100 people to safety. There have also been estimates of more than 5 thousand passengers who have not been escorted out. The met department has also reduced the chances of the weather getting better.
