
Muzaffarpur Crime News: During a welcome ceremony for Tourism Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, police arrested a hotel owner with illegal weapons. A pistol, a semi-automatic gun, and 53 live cartridges were recovered from the accused's Scorpio. According to police, the accused already faces seven criminal charges and was absconding in a case filed by Ranchi police. Meanwhile, hotel owner Vikas Kumar was present at his Line Hotel in Madhaul with weapons. When the police team deployed for security for the minister's arrival noticed him, he was searched on suspicion.Illegal weapons recovered from ScorpioDuring a search, police recovered a pistol, a semi-automatic SBBL gun, and 53 live cartridges from his Scorpio. During interrogation, the accused produced a pistol license issued from Dimapur, Nagaland, but investigation revealed that the license had expired on March 12, 2025, and had not been renewed.Police also found that the accused possessed a large semi-automatic gun under the same license, which is against the rules. Furthermore, no official entry for this license had been made in Bihar.Regarding the matter, SDPO West Animesh Chandra Gyani said that a case has been registered against the accused under the Arms Act. The illegal weapon and Scorpio have been seized and the accused is being sent to judicial custody.The accused already has 7 cases registered against him.According to the police, Vikas Kumar has a long criminal history. He has seven cases registered against him in various police stations and is also wanted in a case in Ranchi. Police believe he possessed the weapons to maintain his dominance in the area. This action has created a stir in the area.
