Lower border regions also travel to Nepal for dental and ocular treatments. The expenses are lower than in India. Traders and merchants dealing in business of spices, dry fruits, and cosmetic products regularly travel to Nepal.Decline in tourism numbers is currently being noticed There has been a persistent decline in the number of Indian tourists in the last few years. The restriction of a cash system of ₹25,000 was thought to be the reason behind this. During the Union Cabinet meeting of Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister cum Finance Minister Vishnu Prasad Paudel lifted this cash limit for Indian tourists, which is now in effect. There is still a restriction of the circulation of ₹100 Indian notes in Nepal, which remains in effect. Indians residing in the bordering regions are pleased with this decision from the government of Nepal.
