New Flight Service: India’s top domestic carrier IndiGo has just landed another winner! The airline has launched a fresh daily non-stop link between Kolkata and Hindon Airport in Ghaziabad, giving flyers a slick, early-morning route to Delhi-NCR straight from Kolkata. The fresh connection, branded flight 6E 2588, lifts off from Kolkata at 5:50 am and touches down at Hindon Airport right at 8:00 am. For those eager to return, there’s a smooth same-day option: the 8:50 am push from Hindon that rolls back into Kolkata at 11:00 am. The flight schedule is neatly balanced to spare travellers the pain of a pre-dawn alarm or a rough landing into night. Be it a morning meeting, a family outing, or a quick trip, this route stitches Kolkata to the Delhi-NCR business and leisure landscape with real ease.IndiGo is further entrenching itself in the NCR by designating Hindon Airport as its second key hub after IGI. Hindon now stands as a strategic ally in the airline’s push to dominate regional connectivity around the national capital.Beyond its Kolkata route, IndiGo has introduced links from Hindon to Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Goa, Indore, Mumbai, Patna, and Varanasi. Passengers can now board direct flights from Ghaziabad to nearly every metropolitan centre, conveniently sidestepping the congestion at Delhi Airport. IndiGo’s proposed schedule maps out around 70 flights a week from Hindon, offering travellers the advantages of shorter commutes and fresher boarding experiences.Hindon’s upgrade has been paced by the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) programme, which the Centre engineered to weave small cities into the air transport fabric. The policy’s strategy is straightforward: pair regional centres with larger cities to drive ticket prices down and put flying within reach of the everyday commuter.Kolkata passengers heading to Hindon Airport will now enjoy a direct link that cuts travel time for lakhs in Ghaziabad, Noida, East and Central Delhi, and Western Uttar Pradesh. Instead of battling traffic to Indira Gandhi Airport, they can board a flight just minutes from home. IndiGo isn’t alone in targeting Hindon. Air India Express also recognises the airport’s potential. Since March 1, the line has offered Non-stop Kolkata–Hindon hops. Beyond Kolkata, Air India Express has expanded the Hindon network, flying to Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, and Jammu. With 40 weekly departures, the airline’s mix of routes strengthens NCR connectivity and gives travellers more options.
