Mangaluru: Obscene videos discovered on the mobile phone of a Hindu leader: The police in Moodbidri reportedly recovered over 50 obscene video clips from the mobile phone of Samit Raj Dharegudde, Co-convenor of Hindu Jagran Vedike from Dakshina Kannada District. Dharegudde is out on bail stemming from charges involving him participating in the stone pelting of a private bus. While investigating other matters, police discovered these files on the leader’s phone. After obtaining permission from the court and the concerned senior officials, the necessary forensics were extracted at CEN Lab in Mangaluru. Their process of forensic extraction, however, seemed unusual to many. As informed by some officials, the material they uncovered was quite shocking as it contained videos of adults interacting inappropriately coupled with sexually explicit acts. Inspector Sandesh of Moodbidri has already registered an FIR based on sections pertaining to obscenity for the additional material describing a specific coastal leader as a prominent figure. As I have mentioned, he was a leading figure from the coast. Anonymous associates have warned of the potential that these videos may be uploaded or circulated where the general public would have access to them. The public order and morality of social order are at risk. The police have their work cut out for them hunting down the origin of the footage and confirming the people in the videos.It was verified that new summons will be served to Dharegudde in relation to the questioning regarding pornographic material. Attempts to contact Dharegudde for his side of the story were unsuccessful.
