Preparations to make the country infiltrator-free: Amit Shah calls a meeting of Directors General of Police

Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : After freeing the country from Maoists, Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is now engaged in a mission to free the country from illegal immigrants. After visiting the border districts of Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Tripura, Amit Shah has called a meeting of the Directors General of Police of all states. The meeting, to be held in Delhi on July 9th, will be attended by the heads of all central agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau, RAW, ED, and NIA. The meeting will discuss strategies to identify and deport illegal immigrants, as well as to dismantle the entire ecosystem involved in infiltration. The government has already formed a high-powered demographic change committee to address the problem of infiltration. The problem of infiltration is not limited to the border areas only.In fact, the problem of illegal immigration isn't limited to border areas. Once illegal immigrants cross the border, they spread throughout the country. They are transported and settled in organized ways, particularly in metropolitan and industrial cities.Even after border infiltration has stopped, identifying illegal immigrants already living there and ensuring their return remains a major challenge. Actions taken in one or two states or a few selected areas are unlikely to address the problem of illegal infiltration. That's why Amit Shah has called for a massive campaign across the country, involving all states, to prevent these infiltrators from fleeing one state and reaching another.A nationwide campaign against illegal immigrantsThe Home Ministry has received reports of this happening in the northeastern states. Recognizing the need for a nationwide campaign against illegal immigrants, it was decided to convene a meeting of the Directors General of Police of all states.Additionally, there's a whole network for bringing in and settling illegal immigrants into the country. Cases have emerged of everything from paying thousands of rupees to cross the border to creating fake documents. Similarly, these immigrants are extorted and transported to various parts of the country. It's essential to dismantle this entire network by taking action against those involved.ED to crack down on black money earned through illegal immigrationThe ED will be responsible for identifying and seizing assets acquired through illegal immigration. The Intelligence Bureau and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) can provide crucial inputs to the police and administration for action. It is worth noting that on August 15 last year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced from the Red Fort that illegal infiltration and the resulting demographic changes in the border areas were a major threat to the country's security and would launch a high-powered mission to deal with it.During a recent meeting with the high-powered committee, Amit Shah emphasized the need to assess the problem on the ground by visiting border areas as well as metropolitan and industrial cities. The committee, formed on May 26th and headed by retired Supreme Court judge Justice Prakash Prabhavar Naolekar, is scheduled to submit its report within a year.
