Recent research conducted at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research, within the Faculty of Medicine at Punjabi University, has developed a new and effective anemia treatment using coriander leaves. The research was conducted by researcher Dr. Kuldeep Singh under the guidance of Associate Professor Dr. Dimple Sethi.Dr. Dimple said that coriander naturally contains iron, folic acid, and antioxidant properties, which accelerate the formation of red blood cells. The medicine prepared using this method is safe, low-cost, and virtually free of side effects. She added that this research is an important step toward achieving better results by combining herbal and modern medical methods.Vice Chancellor Dr. Jagdeep Singh congratulated the researcher and Associate Professor Dr. Dimple Sethi and said that such research further strengthens the university's academic and social commitment. He said that the development of medicines based on natural resources is the need of the hour, and the progressive role being played by Punjabi University in this direction is commendable.The drug was successful in increasing the hemoglobin level in patients in just 10 days.Researcher Dr. Kuldeep Singh said that during the research it was found that this medicine prepared from coriander leaves was successful in increasing the hemoglobin level in patients in just 10 days, whereas it took about 28 days to achieve this result with the previously available medicines.Speaking about the significance of this research, Dr. Kuldeep Singh said that anemia is a serious health problem among children, women, and pregnant women. This coriander-based remedy has emerged as a natural and effective treatment. He claimed that this research could open new possibilities for the treatment of anemia globally in the future.
