Ramdas Athawale Accuses BJP of Neglect and Betrayal Over BMC Election Seat Sharing

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has expressed significant dissatisfaction with his ally the Bharatiya Janata Party regarding the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections. During a recent public statement the Republican Party of India leader claimed that the BJP is currently ignoring its smaller allies which he described as a betrayal of trust. Athawale emphasized that his party has been a loyal member of the National Democratic Alliance for many years and has played a crucial role in consolidating Dalit votes in favor of the alliance across Maharashtra and India. The minister pointed out that the RPI has submitted a list of preferred seats for the BMC polls but there has been no formal communication or seat-sharing agreement reached yet. He cautioned the BJP leadership that winning the BMC will be a difficult task if they do not take their partners along. Athawale further mentioned that if the BJP continues to sideline the RPI his party might be forced to consider contesting the elections independently to satisfy the demands of his party workers. This public grievance highlights the internal friction within the Mahayuti alliance as parties prepare for the critical civic body battle in Mumbai.
