
New Expressway: The New Expressway from Delhi to Dehradun Will a 210 km long new expressway. This will transform travel within the expressway and travel time for other surrounding cities. This expansion will facilitate travel for citizens of both states and is becoming part of Bharatmala project. It is mentioned that this expansion will decrease travel time in both ways by reducing it from 6.5 to 2.5 hours. Its real importance is further not just reducing the distance, but also enabling district level centers to emerge as hubs of planned, integrated urban and industrial development.The expressway is being built in 4 parts. The first part is Baghpat – Dehradun, alongside expansion will be done for a 32 km elevated part as well leading into Baghpat containing 4 interchanges and 40 underpasses along with new tunnels providing a boost to tourism and residential growth. The second phase includes 118 km green field line Saharanper which will lead to Ganeshpur from where remaining 60+ underpasses alongside integrating into residential areas. The last phase includes a 19.5 dominating part Shivalik hills and Rajaji Tiger reserve stretching dat Kali Devi Tunnel an absolute appeal.New flight from metro and airport The Dehradun metro project is moving forward with the expressway in two phases. The construction of a total 73 kilometer line (Haridwar-Rishikesh 32 km; Nepali Farm-Dehradun 41 km) is coming along nicely. In addition, the expansion of Jolly Grant Airport is underway which will increase international accessibility, greatly accelerating the development of the region. Dehradun is becoming an extended suburb of Delhi.” Tourism Scale Expansion Uttarakhand tourism is picking up pace, in 2018, 78 lakh tourists visited the place which surged to 5.96 crore in 2023. Out of these, 6.1 million were domestic and 26,000 international.
