
On Sunday afternoon, tremors were felt across the states of India. Particularly strong tremors were felt in the North Bengal region, including Siliguri, West Bengal. The epicenter of this region is in the Udalguri region of Assam, and the earthquake is said to have had a low 5.9 magnitude. The center remained at a depth of only 10 km from the ground. A user on X claimed “My legs still tremble from how infamously horrific the shaking was.” Another user claimed that during the shaking, “I thought the roof was going to come down.”What has the local authorities claimed?Assam still has no reports of injuries and people still on the move for the available property, all systems still on guard.
