The maximum and minimum temperature in the state capital will likely hover between 41 to 26 degrees Celsius.People in Chhattisgarh will be able to enjoy some relief from heat. The meteorological department has predicted thunderstorms and rain in the state from Thursday onwards. This means strong winds moving at 50-60 kmph will be blowing in many parts of the state accompanied by heavy rainfall. Keeping this in mind, the department has issued orange alert in approximately 20 districts of the state. The department also said favorable conditions exist for the southwest monsoon to reach some parts of Chhattisgarh within the next 2-3 days.Speaking about today's weather, the department has placed an orange alert in 19 districts of the state and thunderstorms and rain are expected during which strong winds will be blowing at a speed of 50 to 60 kmph. Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Korea, Surajpur, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, Surguja, Jashpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Korba, Raigarh, Mungeli, Bilaspur, Janjgir-Champa, Sakti, Balodabaja-Bhatapara, Sarangarh-Bilaigarh, Raipur, Bijapur, Dantewada, Bastar, Sukma districts have been put on orange alert. Jagdalpur received 20 mm rain, Durg 11 mm, Lakhanpur 1.5 mm, Raipur 1 mm, Bilaspur 0.4 mm and Raipur Mana 0.2 mm. Rajnandgaon recorded the highest maximum temperature at 44 degree Celsius in the state, whereas Jagdalpur registered the minimum temperature at 23.1 degrees Celsius.Monsoon likely to reach within 2-3 days.Conditions are becoming favorable for the onset of southwest monsoon into Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand and parts of Uttar Pradesh in the next 2-3 days. The trough extends from South Punjab to South Bangladesh at mean sea level. A cyclonic circulation lies over Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal between 0.9 and 3.1 km above mean sea level.
