Toll Plaza Closure Doesn't Mean Free Travel: FASTag Ensures Continuous Road Fee Collection

Toll Plaza: The Kanwar route is now possessing excessive Kanwariyaa which is creating a saffron scene. The Siwaya toll plaza management is now allowing Kanwariyas to freely carry on their activities. The toll booth barriers which were closed earlier, now have black polythene draped over them while the toll booths remain closed. This means that vehicles around Siwaya toll plaza will be able to drive through without needing to halt. Although, the CCTV cameras located at the toll plaza's barriers remain operational. Vehicles with Fastag will have their toll charges automatically deducted upon entering the camera's zone.As it is the case every passing year, the Siwaya toll is overflowing with Kanwariyas. All toll booths have been set to open, avoiding any inconvenience to the Kanwariyas. Although the vehicles will be passing through without any hassles, all toll plaza cameras will continue to function. Vehicles with registration numbers sporting Fastag will continue to be charged tolls whenever they cross the camera zones.Traffic suspended on Delhi-Doon HighwayDue to the inflow of Kanwariyas from Haridwar towards Meerut-Muzaffarnagar, the traffic on Delhi-Dehradun Highway has been suspended since 12 o’clock on Friday night. Earlier, there was a one-way system. One lane was reserved for the Kanwariyas. Now, due to the increasing number of the Kanwariyas more vehicles from Ghaziabad towards Meerut are being diverted, and the Haridwar bound vehicles are being halted. Late night, SSP and SP Traffic held a meeting with traffic policemen and provided the requisite guidelines.Moreover, Meerut SP Traffic Raghavendra Kumar Mishra mentioned, 'The Kanwariyas and the vehicles as a whole are suspended from traversing Indo-Nepal border as of last night.' Vehicles from Delhi to Meerut via Uttarakhand are redirected to Hapur through Ghazipur Border via Dasna Interchange and to Kithor from there.One lane reserved on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway as wellThe traffic SP mentioned, 'The postal Kanwariyas are now venturing farther down the expressway and as such, one lane on the Meerut-Delhi side has been marked exclusively for the Kanwariyas.'
