UP Cabinet Clears ₹1,947 Cr PM Mitra Mega Textile Park on Lucknow-Hardoi Border

In a monumental move poised to transform Central Uttar Pradesh into a world-class manufacturing powerhouse, the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday officially granted administrative approval for the ₹1,947 crore Sant Kabir PM Mitra Textile and Apparel Park. Spanning roughly 1,000 acres across the strategic Lucknow-Hardoi border corridor, the ambitious industrial zone is engineered to serve as a unified mega-hub for the nation's textile and garment sectors. Developed under the Union Government's flagship PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme, the complex aims to consolidate everything from raw fiber processing to ready-to-wear apparel manufacturing and export logistics within a single state-of-the-art industrial ecosystem.Attari Village in Malihabad Chosen as Hub; Ramky Infrastructure Appointed Master DeveloperThe high-tech manufacturing park is slated for development in Attari village, located within Lucknow’s Malihabad tehsil, sitting adjacent to the Sandila industrial belt of Hardoi. Leading urban development and engineering enterprise Ramky Infrastructure Limited has been formally selected as the master developer to construct and manage the integrated infrastructure. The master plan focuses on an end-to-end value chain model, eliminating logistical fragmentation by co-locating spinning, weaving, processing, dyeing, and garment printing alongside specialized testing labs, administrative centers, and modern container freight stations.Over 1 Lakh Jobs Projected to Benefit Local Youth and Curb MigrationGovernment estimates indicate that the mega textile park will generate direct and indirect employment for over one lakh young professionals and workers. Job creation will span multiple technical and operational functions, including computer-aided design, textile machine operations, industrial quality inspection, assembly-line packaging, automated warehousing, cargo transport, plant maintenance, and campus security. Local youth, including job seekers like Shivansh Singh and Raman, pointed out that the facility will reduce the compulsion to migrate to distant metropolitan hubs, allowing workers to secure competitive industrial livelihoods close to their families. However, stakeholders emphasize that targeted skill development initiatives must be rolled out in tandem to align local youth proficiencies with the specific technical demands of arriving textile conglomerates.Major Economic Boost for Sandila Industrial Belt, Transporters, and MSMEsThe establishment of massive manufacturing units within the park will trigger a massive surge in auxiliary business demands, benefiting small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), industrial equipment suppliers, logistics providers, and packaging manufacturers across Hardoi and Lucknow. Avnish Trivedi, Youth District President of the Bharatiya Udyog Vyapar Mandal, and Vice President Ashwani Kumar highlighted that local traders, freight carriers, commercial warehouse owners, and catering networks stand to gain substantially by integrating into the supply networks of national and multinational textile brands. Furthermore, the surrounding rural belt is anticipating rapid urbanization, which is expected to drive up demand for commercial rentals, rental housing, retail markets, and modern road and electrical grid infrastructure.
