UPSRTC Rakshabandhan 2026: Roadways Drivers and Conductors to Receive ₹1,200 Incentive Bonus

In a major morale-boosting move ahead of the festive season, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has announced a special incentive scheme for its hardworking drivers, conductors, and workshop technical staff for Rakshabandhan 2026. Designed to ensure seamless and uninterrupted public transport services during the high-demand festival period, the six-day scheme will run from August 26 to August 31, 2026. Under this program, regular and contract transport personnel who go above and beyond to serve passengers will be rewarded with financial bonuses directly added to their earnings alongside their standard salaries.Special Incentive Structure for Drivers, Conductors, and Workshop StaffDetailing the guidelines of the scheme, Assistant Regional Manager (ARM) Hemant Mishra explained that drivers and conductors (including contract workers) who maintain daily attendance and successfully cover a total distance of 1,800 kilometers across the six-day period will be rewarded with an incentive of ₹1,200. Furthermore, contract drivers and conductors who exceed the 1,800-kilometer benchmark will receive an additional performance incentive of 55 paise per extra kilometer, disbursed locally at the depot level. To ensure operational efficiency, workshop technical staff members who maintain perfect daily attendance throughout the six-day window will receive a one-time incentive of ₹500, provided that drivers and conductors maintain a service load factor exceeding 64 percent.Ensuring Smooth Travel for Sisters Across Uttar PradeshThe implementation of this robust incentive scheme forms a core part of the state government's broader transport strategy for the festival, complementing the announcement of free bus travel for women across Uttar Pradesh from August 26 to August 31. With millions of sisters traveling to tie rakhis on their brothers' wrists during Raksha Bandhan, the state administration and UPSRTC have proactively tackled historical transit overcrowding and travel hurdles. By rewarding transport employees and ensuring full fleet availability, the corporation aims to deliver a comfortable, hassle-free travel experience for citizens throughout the state.
